Optimization of a Coherent Dual-Beam Array Feed Network for Aperiodic Concentric Ring Antennas

A dual-beam coherent feeding system design approach with a non-uniform layout on concentric ring array is described and synthesized. In this case, the based reconfigurable topology composed of set alternated power dividers combiners, providing in-phase outputs. Thus, in paper, two-beam architecture formed by intercalated input signals each circular antenna multi-beam shaping steering features analyzed. The task optimizing aperiodic shared aperture radii rings realized differential evolution method. Numerical experiments grounded synthesis validate capabilities improved performance proposed configuration contrast its uniform counterpart, enhanced average up to −6.1 dB for sidelobe level 3.5 directivity. Additionally, results show significantly less complex network case typical electronically scanned array—in proposal, direction maximum radiation conformed approximately half control inputs.
